Firefighters Help Raise Money For Special Olympics

This past weekend, several Long Valley firefighters and their families helped raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey at Wildwood's Polar Bear Plunge. In this year's event, more than a thousand men, women, and children charged into the frigid Atlantic Ocean amidst the chilly 40 degree weather. This year's plunge raised approximately $390,000, topping last year's total by nearly $15,000. The money from this event allows all the Special Olympics programs to be free of charge for their participants.
